Day 2:

I am grateful for my family.

I’m grateful for you that GOD chose you as conduits to bring me into this world. I’m grateful for you who cared and still care enough to needfully admonish me, you who encouraged and still encourage me and you who taught and still teach me how to be better. I’m thankful for you who stood or stand beside me praying in hard times, as well as you that are and were happy and praising GOD for my good times. I’m grateful for you that love an imperfect me unconditionally. I’m grateful for your shoulder to cry on and your sharing in my joy. Throughout my evolution you are a constant, not meaning you haven’t evolved, but that your support of my evolution never waivers (even though you may have given me a side eye). If this describes you, blood or naw, We are Family. I am Grateful to GOD for you and your Love.

Ich Liebe Dich Alle ❤️

True Friendship is not only measured by what a person says or does in your presence or the truth they tell when you’re present.

The true measure of a friendship happens when things are said about you when you’re not around.

Your true friend morphs into a paid attorney, putting up a strong defense for you when someone comes for you and you’re not there to defend yourself. They also hold your secrets in confidence like attorney/client privilege.

Off, Unchallenged Thinking

How do you ever know your thinking or actions are off if no one ever tells you. Sometimes we think our learned and established behavior or thought patterns are wise and correct. Truth be told, we ALL need that someone who is unbiased and cares enough to challenge our possibly wrong thinking/behavior. Woe be it unto the man who is never challenged in that manner or never challenges those close to them. ~Iron Sharpens Iron~BHicks

Not For Every One, Just The One

I saw this photo from Shawn McKenzie and loved it. I wrote some encouraging words below it for women like this. I  pray it blesses you. The revelation blessed me.

If you are this, understand that every man is not looking for this. Make sure you’re ok with that fact and remember to not take a step back waiting for someone who doesn’t understand the value of this, to catch up. They just may not be in to you, or ready for you, or just not checking for you. That’s ok. If there is only one for you that means don’t gaze into the eyes of every man in the multitude wondering if he is the one. It may sound cliche but fix your eyes on GOD. If you deal in Faith you know HE will not make you ashamed, HE knows what you need, want and how to give it to you. HE is your Father. Your greatest champion who knows and calls you by name. Speak your name and who you are and what GOD has Himself said about you. It will help you to remember you’re worthy. As for me, my name is Bridgette. Though I had strayed I am called and chosen. I am waiting, I am patient, I am grateful and I Am LOVE.

Be YOU, Inherently

This is a devotional I wrote in 2010. GODS word is timeless. I hope it meets your spirit today.

Be who you are….GOD designed each of us differently. Each of us possess gifts that are different from others. You were planned and designed by the master. There is a blueprint in GODs office on his desk with your name on it. He is having his people (His Son and the Holy Spirit) work in and through you to make sure everything lines up so that when the building not made by mans hands is done… it will be complete…lacking nothing. On this earth there are going to be people put off by your intellect, your spirit of GOD, your resolve to stand firm and not waiver in the way you carry yourself, etc. Never change who you are to be a part of anything or accommodate anyone. Most times when you do this…it ends badly. Don’t waste your own precious time or anyone else’s not being true in who you are and what you know.
Stand firm knowing that you were designed by greatness. That which you possess is not for everybody to be in the presence of …to partake in. Be selective of your inner circle…and MOST IMPORTANTLY…..BE TRANSFORMED…DO NOT CONFORM. Be THANKFUL to GOD, HUMBLE and GRACIOUS. Never fall back in letting the world see the excellence in who HE made YOU to be.

Romans 12:2
Don’t become like the people of this world. Instead, change the way you think. Then you will always be able to determine what God really wants-what is good, pleasing, and perfect.

Psalm 139:14 I will give thanks to you because I have been so amazingly and miraculously made. Your works are miraculous, and my soul is fully aware of this.

How you Measure yourself

People find a sense of superiority in comparing themselves to others. Another person is not the standard by which you should measure yourself. GOD is the standard. GOD-like character is the standard. What you have, where you go, what you do…means nothing. How you live, how you give, how you treat others, your relationship with GOD….that’s the true measure of a man/woman.

Anything else is ego….self-aggrandizement….and a not so accurate assessment.

Change you

In my own ways I detect the error. My own error, I can correct. This is why I pray for divine introspect. GOD works. Pray for change. Endure and accept it, even with the growing pains. You know better. Ignoring what you know won’t ever make your life better. One day you will have to look your error in the face and Change won’t just be an option, BUT your SAVING GRACE. Don’t wait. GOD has something HE has been saving especially for you, on that long awaited day that you make the firm, un-moveable decision to….CHANGE.

Master of ME

I’ve learned that there are a lot of people to see, a lot of things to do and I can see and do them all. But the most important value that I’m learning is that I must invest some time in ME. I can do everything but not Master anything if I can’t Master ME! My MASTER is training me in this and HE will make sure I get where I need to be. I am open to HIS teachings.

What are you a master of? Who is your master? Whose teaching are you open to? Who or what have you submitted your mind/life to?
